This morning, guests on the bow fell into silence as the first glimmering icebergs floated into view. As we crossed the bar and entered Tracy Arm, more bergs appeared against the backdrop of towering rock, casting an epic tone over our morning.
By Zodiacs, we approached the stunning face of South Sawyer Glacier and marveled at the plethora of ice sculptures present there. We shared the fjord with three bald eagles, a mountain goat, gulls, and harbor seals before making our way to Sawyer Glacier for kayaking.
The stories swapped at our final cocktail hour proved that the glaciers have enchanted the entire ship with their crystalline blue folds and turquoise waters, as well as their dynamic movements. All afternoon, we watched the tide shuffle fallen ice into new formations, a constant dance. We sailed away, grateful for an unforgettable last adventure aboard National Geographic Sea Lion, in a place one can only experience by ship.
