This morning, after a beautiful sunrise and good birding from the decks, we chose an anchorage in a bay on the Baja California Peninsula, Bahia San Francisquito. After breakfast we explored by foot and Zodiac.
In the afternoon, we cruised north toward Isla San Pedro Mártir, the most remote island in the Gulf of California. It is a protected biosphere reserve and a safe haven for nesting and roosting seabirds, such as blue-footed boobies, brown boobies, red-billed tropicbirds, brown pelicans, gulls, and more. Surrounding waters abound with marine life. Late afternoon Zodiac tours in amazingly calm conditions provided stimulation for our senses and many photo opportunities in the beautiful light before sunset.
