National Geographic Sea Lion began the foggy morning with guests on the bow watching a beautiful sunrise among bottlenose dolphins. After breakfast, guests and staff embarked upon pangas captained by local experts to enjoy a morning of wildlife encounters. The fog set an incredible backdrop for whale watching. Guests and staff had some magical encounters with gray whales, including a mother and calf.

In the afternoon after lunch, the ship’s crew began our adventures southbound through Boca de Soledad. Local captain Sergio piloted the ship through the narrow and shallow channel, while we all witnessed some more incredible wildlife. Once National Geographic Sea Lion anchored, guests disembarked for a hike across breathtaking sand dunes toward the Pacific Ocean. The trip was wrapped up with another incredible cocktail hour, recap, dinner, and guest slideshow to finalize our incredible voyage along the Baja peninsula.
