Complimentary Air & Fine Art Limited-Edition Print
NEW YORK, NY, August 2015 --- Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic has announced that artist Zaria Forman, acclaimed for her dramatic large-scale drawings of fragile environments, will join two expeditions in Antarctica as a guest speaker. Set aboard the 148-guest National Geographic Explorer, Ms. Zaria will join on the November 7 and November 27, 2015 departures.
Artist and environmentalist, Zaria’s drawings explore moments of transition, turbulence, and tranquility in the landscape, allowing viewers to emotionally connect with a place they may never have the chance to visit, in the hope that they will be inspired to protect and preserve them. Her renderings of ice, waves, and water are astonishingly tangible and compelling. Zaria’s inspiration for her drawings began in early childhood when she traveled with her family throughout some of the world's most remote landscapes, which were the subject of the work of her mother, renowned fine art photographer Rena Bass Forman.
During her time exploring the Antarctic with Lindblad, Zaria will gather inspiration to create a body of work depicting the Antarctic landscape, while sharing her story and creative process with the guests. Sven Lindblad has commissioned Zaria to create a drawing that will be reproduced as a limited-edition print, which will be gifted to all guests on these two expeditions.
The two expeditions include:
