Brian Christiansen
Brian is an adventure seeker traveling the planet in search of deeper connections with our world's complex ecology. Brought up in Utah, home to some of the most dramatic margins a coastal desert can offer so far inland, his appreciation for protecting our precious places runs deep. He holds a degree in motion picture, video and theatre arts from Montana State University, a school dedicated to broadening students' horizons by allowing them to explore curriculums well outside their major.
Dreams of the sea reeled Brian to Lindblad Expeditions in 2011, first as a deckhand then as video chronicler, furthering the knowledge of his cherished places. Wanting to share his newfound appreciation for conservation and preservation through physical learning he strove to be a naturalist. He realized the position provides the perfect medium to combine his love of teaching and continue the adventures of his youth taking him from the snow-capped peaks of the Intermountain West to the rushing rivers carving out the foothills of China's Himalayas to the underwater world of our oceans. Since 2012, he has lived on a boat throughout the Caribbean while striving to perfect a small-printed lifestyle.
As Video Chronicler, Brian has his cameras at-the-ready 24 hours a day and seven days a week, with just one goal: to capture the essence of each expedition. Voyage DVDs are available at the end of each expedition—they often prove to be remarkable ways of remembering and recapturing the magic of these remarkable journeys.
