Day 1 - Juneau / Fairbanks
Arrive in Fairbanks and transfer to the Springhill Suites before a welcome dinner at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 2 - Fairbanks / Chena Hot Springs
Begin the day with a visit to the University of Alaska Fairbanks Museum, featuring collections representing over 11,000 years of cultural tradition, including “Blue Babe”, a restored 36,000-year-old bison found in permafrost. In late morning depart for Chena Hot Springs. Visit the Aurora Ice Museum, created from over 1,000 tons of ice and snow, and then soak in the natural hot spring rock lake before returning to Fairbanks. (B,L,D)
Day 3-5 - Denali National Park / Alaska Railroad
Witness the grandeur of Alaska aboard the Alaska Railroad, enjoying the first class, GoldStar Service en route to Denali. The glass-domes ceiling cars feature custom-designed interiors highlighted with original Alaska art and a private outdoor viewing deck. Breakfast will be served on board the train. On arrival, immerse yourself in the wildness and north country mystique of Denali National Park. See Denali’s rich wildlife, flora and fauna firsthand and learn about its natural history during the daily activities including a Tundra Wilderness Tour for an opportunity to look for Dall sheep, moose, caribou, wolves, and grizzly bears; go river rafting on the Nenana River or hold a puppy at Husky Homestead--the sled dog training facility of four-time Iditarod winner Jeff King. Optional flightseeing offers breathtaking aerial views of Alaska and is available at an additional cost.
Wind down in the evening after a full day taking in Denali's natural and cultural history. Sleep in well-appointed, comfortable rooms and enjoy delicious meals, including fresh, wild-caught Alaskan seafood, throughout your stay. (B,L,D)
Day 6 - Denali National Park / Anchorage
Depart the lodge for our scenic drive to Anchorage. This afternoon, visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center, an excellent interactive cultural destination. Set on 26 acres, the center has indoor and outdoor features. Indoors you’ll find exhibits, storytelling, and demonstrations. Outdoors, tours are offered through recreated villages representing five different native cultures and introducing you to their traditional crafts and lifestyle. Walk away with insight into the unique peoples of Alaska and the important role that subsistence living plays for all of them. Enjoy a farewell dinner this evening. (B,L,D)
Day 7 - Anchorage / Home
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home. (B)

Disclaimer: Depending on your departure date, you may be responsible for one or two nights on your own before joining the Denali extension. Participants must be 5 years of age and up to join extension.
