“You can truly feel how special Antarctica is in the early season,” says Martin Graser, captain of the National Geographic Resolution. Guests exploring in November and December will experience the White Continent when everything is covered in untouched snow and ice, and you can witness penguins courting and building their nests, along with humpback whales, pods of orcas and seals hauled out on ice floes.
You'll also venture into places like the Weddell Sea, which is off limits to most other ships this time of year, and enjoy rare opportunities to walk or cross-country ski (in November) on the fast ice, surrounded only by glaciers and white-capped mountains.
