National Geographic Sea Bird arrived in Wrangell this morning. Guests enjoyed a visit to Chief Shake’s House, the clan house of the local Tlingit people. From there, we explored local forest trails, sought out ancient carvings, and explored the Wrangell Museum.
After a delicious lunch onboard, some guests spent the afternoon coasting up the shallow Stikine River in jet boats, while others visited the Anan Bear Sanctuary, observing coastal brown bears fishing for spawning salmon from protected viewpoints. An amazing day for all!
