Last night, National Geographic Venture entered Bahia Magdalena. Today was devoted to watching gray whales at the north end of the bay, Boca de Soledad (Mouth of Solitude). Conditions were perfect: bright sun, light winds...and most importantly...numerous gray whales! Some of the 40+ foot-long mammals swam very close to our small boats. It was truly a memorable day among the great whales.
