Right after breakfast we loaded the skiffs and explored the river’s edge of the Ucayali River, called Yanalpa. Sightings of squirrel monkeys, sloths, and iguanas sun basking were enjoyed by our guests. We also explored a small tributary called Belluda Creek. The highlight of the morning was seeing flocks of blue and yellow macaws along with a few scarlet macaws.
For our afternoon activity, Delfin II arrived close to Dorado River. Here we had the chance to explore the area and wait for the sunset. Our naturalists brought out spotlights and several spectacled caimans were seen at the surface of the floating vegetation. Other creatures were spotted, like black-crowned night herons and bulldog fishing bats.
It was another great day exploring the diversity of the Upper Amazon.
