The day started with National Geographic Quest in position at South Sawyer Glacier. During the night, the ship sailed up Tracy Arm so we could start our morning at the glacier. We jumped in Zodiacs and cruised to the face of South Sawyer. As it towered 250 feet above us, we marveled at its impossible blue hues and cheered on its massive calvings. After everyone had a chance to get up close and personal with the glacier, the ship sailed back out of Tracy Arm on an unusually sunny day for Southeast Alaska.
