Today's journey through Santorini began with a visit to Oia, perched on the northern end of the largest island of Thera. It delighted us with its traditional Cycladic architecture and the spectacular views into the caldera.
The expedition continued with a wine tasting experience at Santos Winery. It introduced a variety of local wines, each telling a unique story of Santorini's terroir and winemaking heritage. The crisp Assyrtiko, a signature varietal of the region, stood out with its refreshing acidity and mineral notes. Lunch was at the seaside village of Agia Paraskevi, where some of our guests got in the water as well.
The day concluded with a visit to the archaeological site of Akrotiri, where remnants of an ancient Minoan settlement unveiled a civilization buried under volcanic ash for centuries. The excavated streets, houses, and artifacts offered a glimpse into the daily life and advanced urban planning of the Bronze Age Aegean.
