Today we woke up on the northwestern part of Santa Cruz Island to explore Dragon Hill, where you can find creatures very similar to dragons: Galapagos land iguanas! We landed on the coastline of Dragon Hill and started our walk inland to arrive at a dry forest, where land iguanas live and nest. As we walked along the trail, we saw them basking on the ground absorbing the first rays of sun to warm up and do the activities of the day: rest, feed, and maybe chase some females. Tough life!

The morning expedition continued in the water with a snorkel full of surprises in a nearby islet called Guy Fawkes. As soon as we jumped in the water, a friendly and huge manta ray swam with us for a few minutes. This was definitely one of the highlights of the week, since we do not always get to share the beautiful blue ocean with them at the same time.

In the afternoon, we explored a pristine mangrove area in Santa Cruz Island, called Borrero. We used kayaks and Zodiacs as exploration tools to get close to the mangroves and wildlife they nurse. The day ended with a spectacular sunset and a wine tasting on the sun deck. It was another precious day in paradise that will stay in our memories forever!
