A majestic morning welcomed us to Reine, the queen of the Lofoten Islands. Flat, calm seas and crystal clear skies are rare in this part of the world, but the islands certainly laid out the red carpet for us.

The Lofoten Islands are known both for their natural beauty and for their production of cod fish, which they dry in the cold air on racks that dominate the island towns. As we toured the town of Reine, many of the racks were still holding their precious bounty, making for unique and artistic photo opportunities (as well as adding a certain aroma to the experience).

This afternoon, everyone got a slightly different perspective of the town, either from the summit of Reinebringen at over 1500ft, or from water level aboard Zodiac tours which explored the nearby protected fjords and the wildlife protected therein.
