This morning, we began our day at the beautiful island of Mentebung. This region has dramatic geology shielded by a dense cover of palm trees. After breakfast and morning stretches, we landed ashore for a village visit. The town’s community was very welcoming and were happy to show us around. The buildings were brightly colored and as we walked through the village, some guests enjoyed wild passionfruit that was growing freely.

Once back on board National Geographic Orion, we ate lunch and prepared ourselves for the afternoon’s snorkel excursion. We used the platform, which gave us immediate access to some of the best coral in the region. Those guests with a keen eye were lucky enough to see a broad club cuttlefish, which appeared unphased of our presence and posed happily for many cameras. It was a real treat!
