What a relaxing and enjoyable way to conclude our fantastic expedition! After so many exciting adventures, from orangutan encounters in the Borneo jungle, to tantalizing cultural experiences, we had the privilege to unwind, relax and snorkel in the warm waters of our own private island in the stunning Anambas Archipelago.
Eager snorkelers boarded the Zodiacs, gear in hands for our last opportunity to explore the mysterious South China Sea. Surrounded by pristine forests, perched on high cliff of granite islands, Pulau Lintang is a small island where we can observe the high diversity of these untouched reefs. The glass bottom Zodiac was a popular activity, our window to the alluring turquoise seas. For the more adventurous, we also had a chance to kayak around the picturesque islands. A delicious barbecue was prepared by our talented crew at the beach. Sun kissed, salted and well nourished, it was time to board the National Geographic Orion and head to our final destination, Singapore. While we sailed deep into the South China Sea, National Geographic photographer Jeff Mauritzen explained how to use light and layers creatively to add depth to our photography. The Captain’s Farewell Cocktail party was welcomed by all, while we delightfully watched our guest slideshow, enticed by the captured memories of our amazing voyage.
