Today abroad National Geographic Orion, we explored remote Pulau Lintang in the North Natuna Sea, between Borneo and the Malaysian Peninsula. Here we found an idyllic white sand beach with palms and a dense forest growing almost to the shore. Guests spent the afternoon wading, swimming, and strolling along the beach in a scene seemingly drafted for a postcard.

Not content with mere terrestrial pursuits, today we also did our first dives and snorkels. Strapping on fins and snorkeling gear, we explored a beautiful coral reef. The reef was both diverse and healthy, with a high coral cover and many reef fish. A fan favorite, the clown anemonefish was spotted among various anemones around the site.

What a great start to our expedition.
