Today on our second day in Costa Rica, we had the fantastic opportunity to visit some of the families living in this remote part of the country and learn a little of the Costa Rican culture. We found the people to be very warm and welcoming, and we enjoyed a taste of their local products: sugarcane, heart of palm, chocolate, vanilla, bananas, and pineapples, to name a few. In both the morning and the afternoon we visited local families, as well as the adjacent tropical rainforest. There we enjoyed great views of squirrel monkeys, yellow-throated toucans, scarlet macaws, a mother three-toed sloth with her baby, and a mother two-toed sloth with her baby. In all, it was a great day experiencing the culture and natural history for which Costa Rica is so well known.

Coiba Island National Park
This morning, we ventured to the stunning Coco Island for an unforgettable snorkeling adventure. The crystal-clear waters revealed an underwater paradise teeming with life. We observed vibrant damselfish, parrotfish, and graceful moray eels. Among the highlights were the elusive whitetip reef sharks and the majestic hawksbill turtles, a truly remarkable sight. Some guests opted for a walk at the ranger station, where they enjoyed the island's abundant birdlife. After a delicious lunch onboard, we returned to the ranger station on Coiba's main island. The afternoon was spent kayaking and standup paddleboarding in the serene, pristine waters. The beauty of this unspoiled paradise left everyone in awe as we glided through calm seas surrounded by lush tropical landscapes. It was an incredible day of exploration and connection with nature, a perfect example of the wonders Coiba Island has to offer.
