Our day commenced with a captivating landing at Augustabukta on Nordaustlandet, where ancient beaches revealed a smattering of fossils, and reindeer roamed freely amidst the rugged terrain.

A team of intrepid hikers embarked on a challenging mountain roundtrip, culminating in a breathtaking vista overlooking Hinlopen Strait and the majestic Vegafonna Glacier, offering a glimpse into the untouched beauty of Svalbard. Medium and short hikers enjoyed leisurely walks through gentle landscapes, surrounded by stunning scenery.

In the afternoon, our Zodiacs cruised past the awe-inspiring cliffs of Alkefjellet in Hinlopen Strait, home to over 60,000 breeding pairs of Brünnich’s guillemots (thick-billed murre), amidst marvelous weather and stunning scenery, painting a picture of the raw wilderness.
