We are starting our expedition in the vast green jungle! So far, we’ve had many amazing sightings ranging from birds to monkeys.
This morning, we explored the Marayali River and the surrounding forest in search of the giant lily pads and to do a little bit of birding.
In the afternoon, we explored Yarapa River looking for big monkeys. After some searching in silence and demonstrating patience, Mother Nature rewarded us with the best monkey encounters.
This area is home to many icons of the jungle such as the three-toed sloth, wattled jacanas, and the black-collared hawk. This region also is a swamp home the many bird species, such as black hawks, fly catchers, horned screamers, and many others. But certainly, the stars of the show were the wooly monkeys!
