National Geographic Islander arrived to the very calm waters of Urbina Bay, located right at the belly button of the “seahorse shaped” island of Isabela. Today we had so much luck – we saw giant tortoises, yellow land iguanas and several Galapagos hawks. After a walk, our guests had the chance to go for quick swim before coming back to the ship.

In the afternoon, we navigated north to another beautiful location known as Tagus Cove. Here we deployed our kayaks and also prepared for deep water snorkeling. Both activities were very successful, many penguins in the water and flightless cormorants close to the snorkelers and kayakers. To top it all, later in the afternoon we offered hike to the top of Darwin Lake and a coastal exploration to search for wildlife along the shore.
