Today we explored the legendary Inian Islands by Zodiac and the nearby George Island on foot and by kayak. It was a beautiful Southeast Alaska day with scattered rain, clouds, sun breaks, mist, and more. Witnessing a fantastic feeding event on the incoming tide was quite an experience. Steller’s sea lions were seen thrashing their caught fish at the surface, while dozens of bald eagles and kittiwakes bombarded the waters for scraps of the carnage.

The impressive sights of Southeast Alaska left quite an impact on many travelers. Some of our youngest Global Explorers felt moved to write haikus.
