Santa Cruz Island is the second largest island in the Galapagos Archipelago and the home of giant daisies and Santa Cruz giant tortoises. This morning we explored the highlands, admiring the beauty of the pit craters and searching for giant tortoises around a local farm. Our guests had a wonderful time learning about native and endemic vegetation there as well. It was also a great opportunity to find more species of land birds, such as doves, finches, warblers, and mockingbirds.

This afternoon we headed to another region on the northern end of Santa Cruz Island. We went ashore on a sandy beach bathed by turquoise blue waters and had plenty of time to stretch, swim, and explore our beautiful surroundings.
