Today, we spent the entire day in the small town of Haines, Alaska. Before any Westerners arrived at these shores, there was a strong Tlingit community known as Chilkat. After breakfast, Zodiacs shuttled guests to shore to begin our activities. Some guests chose to do hikes, while others chose to float down the river. Additionally, some guests tried flyfishing, and there was also an option to explore Haines by bike.

Those who visited the Jilkaat Kwaan Cultural Heritage and Bald Eagle Preserve Visitor Center had an incredible cultural experience learning about the local people and viewing original cultural relics of the Chilkat community. Those on hikes had the opportunity to learn from our naturalists about the colorful flora and fauna of this region.
