This morning we awoke to a rare occurrence of fog in the northern part of the gulf near Isla San Pedro Martir. It soon cleared as the sun rose, and we found ourselves in the company of 40-50 sperm whales and many bottlenose dolphins surfacing from every direction.

After getting some wonderful views from the ship we launched the Zodiacs. The sperm whales dived, but the dolphins came bounding to the Zodiacs. The fog crept back in, but the dolphins stayed in our company. They leapt continually alongside the boats, and everyone had fantastic views.
