San Pedro Martir Island, in the central part of the Gulf of California, is a major nesting site for large colonies of seabirds. Red-billed tropicbirds, brown boobies and blue-footed boobies distribute their nesting sites throughout the island.

Blue-footed boobies prefer to build their nests in the valleys and canyons in the interior of the island. However, some blue-footed boobies nest on protected caves at the cliffs, allowing us to admire their chicks during a Zodiac cruise.
