We spent all morning with finback whales. They were "fluking," a behavior that that is not at all common in this species, and we could appreciate the darker coloration of their skin and the big dorsal fin, which is not present in blue whales (which are quite similar in appearance). We also had the opportunity to smell their breath!
Before lunch we had a couple of very interesting lectures, one about the geology of the Baja Peninsula and other about adaptations to desert life.
We spent the afternoon at Isla Carmen were we had the opportunity to kayak and hike.
