Jackson Narrows & Kynoch Inlet, British Columbia, Canada

Once more we awoke to clear blue skies and sunshine. The rain gear packed for this trip has not yet been needed, but sunblock has been an essential. In perfect conditions we launched the fleet of kayaks this morning and explored the area of Jackson Narrows under our own steam, or by Zodiac for the less energetic. In the water, harbour seals would pop up to observe their visitors while overhead and from the trees bald eagles (pictured) watched our every move.

Taking advantage of the great weather, a deck barbeque was a fine way to refuel after the morning. Later we continued our exploration of B.C. in Kynoch Inlet where we hiked and Zodiac cruised in this spectacular fjord with sheer granite cliffs rising 3,000 feet from the water. Waterfalls cascaded down these cliffs while we had our first encounter with a humpback whale. Hopefully, there will be many more whales, beautiful destinations and blue skies.
