Floreana Island

We started a new day paying a visit to the legendary Post office Bay, a place traditionally visited by the early voyagers such as pirates, whale hunters, seal hunters and many others throughout the history of the islands.

The early risers were already on the top deck bird watching as a feeding frenzy went on involving pelicans, blue-footed boobies, and brown noddy terns in an energetic demonstration of feeding habits.

We took the dinghies and headed to the shore. After a wet landing and leaving our post cards in the barrel hoping some day they will reach home, we boarded the Zodiacs for a spectacular ride where sharks, penguins, and sea lions delighted us.

It was time for breakfast, and shortly after, snorkeling in one of the most beautiful places where the ever restless sea lions and thousands of colorful fish played an important role in our great experience with the marine life.

After lunch and a short siesta, we went snorkeling again and this time the highlights were the harmless white-tipped reef sharks. This was complemented with a peaceful walk around a flamingo lagoon, combined with whale watching and a spectacular red sun, setting on the western sky.
