We visited Bartolomé Island today and took a hike very early in the morning to the top of the volcano to view the best landscape of Galapagos, known as "Pinnacle Rock." Thereafter we enjoyed a beautiful cream-sand beach. We were searching for sharks or marine turtles, and stopped next to a small tide pool. There we found a busy hermit crab looking for a new shell to move into, which was a spectacular show to see.
One has to be very lucky to witness this changeover. The tiny creature started to explore both inside and outside the new shell, trying to find out if there was a nice reading room and enough space to dwell in. When he finally felt confident with the new house, he was in a rush to move in; otherwise he could be a delicious dish for predators.
