Sunrise was absolutely fabulous. The great ball came up through a heavy mist on the horizon, leaving it blazing orange and framed between the small tuff cone of Daphne Minor and North Seymour Island. By the time I had run to get the camera, we had moved beyond Daphne, but it was still spectacular.

We were on approach to Daphne Major, the island where so many years have been spent by the Grant Research Team studying the Darwin finches which inhabit the islet in restricted numbers. We spent abut twenty minutes circumnavigating Daphne before moving on to Baltra, where our great group of guests from the Harvard Musuem of Natural History would be leaving us. We had a great time, everyone!
