Isabela and Fernandina Islands

What a great day we have spent in these remote realms of the Galápagos archipelago. Early in the morning we had great news: dolphins and whales were spotted! We came out to the outer decks and witnessed a wonderful show. After a successful Zodiac cruise in terms of weather, wildlife sightings and geological settings, we snorkeled with pacific green turtles.

The afternoon activities proved to be as exciting as the ones in the morning were. Huge groups of marine iguanas and nesting flightless cormorants were admired. And we even found the remains of a whale skeleton on the shores of Punta Espinoza! Something that really impressed me today was a comment one of our guests made. This person visited the Galápagos some thirty years ago. She commented on how well preserved the Galápagos National Park has been in the last years. She found it better and that, as an Ecuadorian, made me feel sincerely happy and proud. This statement will be for me an everlasting memory that will encourage all of us to help with the preservation of the islands. The deep appreciation for the wilderness, the majesty of the unaltered, unspoiled wild environment of these magical archipelago makes us all dream of a brand new world concerned about its future.
