Southern Isabela

Lost in time…that is, in few words, Isabela Island.

It is very satisfying to know that the guests that come to visit us here in the Galápagos obtain an experience that they will never forget. Part of that experience involves visiting Isabela and its volcanoes. The view of such magnificent active giants gave our guests a warm feeling and a sort of magic that surrounds the air and penetrates deep in their hearts.

Hiking, observing and even smelling a taste of the wild areas is a dream that comes true here in the Galápagos.

Today our guess observed many vermillion flycatchers during our hike to Sierra Negra Volcano. It was a very invigorating walk that rewarded us with the impressive view of one of the largest calderas in the world.

Some others decided to go to see sharks! Why not? After all, this is one of the very few places in the world where you could still see fearless wildlife at this level. During our walk to find the sharks, a large and rather irregular lava flow covered the entire landscape and gave us the impression as if we were walking on the moon! During the night we received the visit of some locals currently involved in the conservation projects of the Galápagos. It was great to see how the locals care so much about this important place, not only for them, but also for humanity itself! Kudos for the Galápagos people!
