Today we visited Floreana, an island like no other. Rich in human history and the first island populated by humans, Floreana is one of the most beautiful and interesting islands. It is located in the south-central area of the Galapagos archipelago, and it is the second island visited by Charles Darwin during his famous voyage on the Beagle.

National Geographic Endeavour II guests started their day early in the morning on a pre- breakfast activity with a lovely walk on “Punta Corcoran.” We found flamingos and blue-footed boobies feeding along the shore as we observed the impressive volcanic landscape. When we crossed a peninsula to a coralline white sand beach, we saw hundreds of marine turtle nests. This beach is one of the most important nesting sites for green sea turtles.

After a delicious breakfast, we relocated the ship to the next destination, Champion Islet. We enjoyed a Zodiac ride and water activities, including snorkeling and tours in the glass-bottom boat. We enjoyed the beauty of the sea and observed lots of wildlife. We found sea lions, tintoreras, Galapagos sharks, and many colorful fish.

After a delicious Mexican lunch with margaritas, we navigated towards Post Office Bay. We enjoyed fantastic kayaking and paddleboarding along the coast, where a group of sea lions played with us. We spotted Pacific green sea turtles looking for seaweed in the bay. Later, we offered guests a couple of options: a second round of kayaking or an afternoon on the beach. Both options were fantastic. After an incredible sunset, we finished the day with a lecture about photography from certified photo instructor Cristian Saa.

Today was another amazing day in this paradise!
