Today we explored the western realm of the Galapagos. In the morning, we visited Fernandina Island where we were transported back to a time when the land was newly formed. On the hike we found countless Galapagos marine iguanas that were basking at the shoreline. Afterwards, we snorkeled with marine iguanas, Galapagos sea lions, and green sea turtles feeding on seaweed.
In the afternoon, we backtracked north to Isabela Island. We explored the area by Zodiac to find Nazca boobies, Galapagos penguins, blue-footed boobies, and the impressive flightless cormorant. We ended the day on the top deck with a wine tasting event at sunset. It was an amazing day on the equator!
