To continue our adventure in the Galapagos Archipelago, we stopped by Española, the oldest and southernmost island. We started our day with some water activities, an early kayaking excursion and a post-breakfast snorkeling outing. We also had the chance to enjoy the beautiful turquoise waters of Gardner Bay with its stretch of white coralline beach, dark basaltic rocks, and unique wildlife.
In the afternoon we concluded our day with a Zodiac navigation along Punta Suarez, located at the northwestern tip of Española. During the exploration we observed the cliffs full of sessile invertebrates, the famous “Christmas iguanas” at the top of the cliffs, and a vast number of marine birds, like Nazca boobies and swallow-tailed gulls.
