Today we arrived at Española, the oldest island of the archipelago, in southeast Galapagos. We started early in the morning with a deep-water snorkeling excursion to enjoy the amazing marine wildlife at Garner Islet. At the same time, some of our guests went for a snorkel off the beach. We finished the morning activities with a visit to a stunning, soft, white coralline sand beach with turquoise waters at Garner Bay.
In the afternoon, we headed to Punta Suarez where our guests had the opportunity to enjoy the presence of lots of sea lions playing along the coast. Also, we saw a mess of marine iguanas gathering for warmth on the old lava boulders. In addition, blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and many other birds, including the Galapagos hawk, use this location for nesting.
It was an amazing first full day in the Galapagos!
