We began our day aboard National Geographic Quest cruising the Sergius Narrows and Peril Strait. A tranquil morning took an exciting turn after we began our steam north into the Chatham Strait. Close to our anchorage in Iyoukeen Cove, we were lucky enough to happen upon a group of around ten humpback whales cooperatively bubble-net feeding! We also spotted harbor porpoises, Dall’s porpoises, and sea otters. After enjoying the wildlife spectacle, we headed to shore. We took a walk in the beautiful Tongass National Forest and kayaked in the calm waters on this perfect Alaskan day. A setting sun guided us up towards our next fantastic stop: the amazing Inian Islands.
Happy Trails!
