Cabo Pulmo is a marine protected area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We had the opportunity to snorkel and boat cruise in the park and it was an amazing morning. We saw so many beautiful reef fish and incredible humpback whales, including mom and calf pairs. We also enjoyed a run.
Amy was raised near Cape Cod in coastal Marion, Massachusetts, and her relationship with the ocean and nature has always been an active one. Her parents, avid divers and marine biologists, introduced her to the underwater world when she was very youn...

After starting our day with an incredible sunrise, we were treated to a sighting of the largest animal on the planet: the mighty blue whale. And there was not only one, but a total of nine blue whales. After spending all morning with them, as well as with some humpback whales, we went ashore on Isla Carmen for tide-pooling and kayaking. Some guests opted to go for a Zodiac cruise where they spotted some bottlenose dolphins.
Our day began with another stunning sunrise against the rugged rock formations of Los Islotes. Perfectly calm conditions for our early morning snorkel allowed for a beautiful experience drifting among the playful California sea lions, with schools of fish sparkling below, and brown pelicans and blue-footed boobies soaring above us. After snorkeling we enjoyed Zodiac cruises along the cliffs, visiting the sea lions, brown pelicans, Brandt’s cormorants, and blue-footed boobies. Following our early morning outing, we enjoyed a delicious brunch made by our talented galley team. While cruising toward La Paz, we enjoyed presentations by our knowledgeable staff members. Once we arrived in La Paz we had some time to explore the town on foot, sample local ice cream at La Fuente, and see some of the historic sites. We all came back together at the theater for an incredible performance by local dancers and a mariachi band, followed by dinner at Casa Marte. The carnival was also in full swing along the waterfront in La Paz, creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere all around us. What a special day!
This morning, we awoke at Cabo Pulmo, a National Marine Park known for its biodiversity. It did not disappoint—some guests opted to head out snorkeling, looking at corals, fish, and even sea turtles. Others opted for panga cruises through the park to watch humpback whales, gray whales, and sea lions. Later in the day we went to shore. Guests chose to enjoy the beach, explore an arroyo and the surrounding bird life, or scramble up for beautiful views out to sea. Guests were buzzing by evening after a day filled with the best of Baja California, from the underwater world to the cactus forest and views over the Gulf of California.
