On our final day in the Galapagos Islands, we explored Santiago Island, a mysterious island rich in animal diversity and history. Home to giant tortoises and a secluded haven for early ocean explorers, it is thus named Buccaneer Cove. This first spot greeted us with perfect weather, which allowed us to enjoy water activities and admire its impressive marine life.
In the afternoon, we visited Puerto Egas, a significant location on the island known for its conservation efforts and historical significance. Surrounded by marine creatures, rocky beaches, and lush vegetation, we ended the day with a stunning sunset that painted the sky with a late day orange.
