Today we had the first full day of our expedition visiting the Galapagos Islands. We started the day very early in the morning with a pre breakfast hike to enjoy the most iconic view of the Galapagos, Bartolome Island’s Pinnacle Rock. Then we headed to the beach to test our snorkeling gear. After a moment, most of our guests were already deep in the calm waters, swimming with rays, sharks, octopuses, and so many colorful fish.
During our afternoon hike on Cerro Dragon, we ventured into a dry forest surrounded by cacti, wild Galapagos cotton plants, and lots of incense trees. Deep into the dry forest, we found the Galapagos land iguanas basking in the sun next to their burrows, posing perfectly for our pictures. This was just the beginning of our wonderful adventure aboard National Geographic Islander II.
