We rarely travel this far north in the Gulf of California, so it was a treat to visit a magnificent arroyo located on the peninsula known as Gull Rock. The narrow canyon offered us late afternoon shade while we investigated the plant life that calls this desert home. As the tide ebbed, we observed some of the creatures that live in the ephemeral pools between tides. One of our highlights was the discovery of three sea hares in the pools. We appreciate the tenacity of the organisms that live in this place where the desert meets the sea.
