Maggie Steber

Award-winning photographer Maggie Steber has worked in nearly 70 countries around the globe, from Peru to India and Nepal to Australia. She has shot more than 15 stories for National Geographic and National Geographic Traveler magazines, focusing on culture, history, society, and people. Maggie was also one of 11 photographers celebrated in Women of Vision: National Geographic Photographers on Assignment and was a 2019 Pulitzer Prize Finalist for her three-year coverage of “Story of a Face,” the cover story for the September 2018 issue of National Geographic magazine. Other honors include the Lucie Award, First Prizes from both the Pictures of the Year competition and the World Press Photo Foundation, the Overseas Press Club President’s Award, and the Leica Medal of Excellence. Maggie’s work is exhibited worldwide and is included in the American Women Collection at the Library of Congress.
