Gary James

Gary is a native Californian and has been interested in natural history for most of his life. His career in biology education began with a five-year assignment in Tanzania, followed by 25 years of teaching and administration at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California. He holds graduate degrees in biology from San Diego State University and the University of California, Irvine. His interests include exploration of remote area of the world, photography, and the cultivation of rare plants. Gary has joined countless expeditions to Baja California and Alaska, as well as to the Pacific Northwest, Central America and Antarctica.
